These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Snap to Learn mobile application (the "App") and the website at snaptolearn.ai (the "Website"), collectively referred to as the "Service". The Service is operated by Daniel Dimitrov ("we", "us", or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 9 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and certain features (such as account creation or multiplayer features, when available) require verifiable parental consent.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or Website. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Snap to Learn is a language learning application that helps users build and practice vocabulary. The Service provides the following core features:
Document scanning — Photograph printed or handwritten text using your device camera or import images from your gallery.
AI-powered vocabulary extraction — Scanned images are processed by cloud-based AI services (Google Gemini and OpenAI) to extract words, translations, definitions, and examples.
Vocabulary management — Organize extracted words into decks, edit word details, and manage your learning content.
Practice sessions — Practice writing translations by hand (using on-device handwriting recognition) or keyboard, with immediate feedback and progress tracking.
Text-to-speech — Listen to pronunciation of words in supported languages.
Deck sharing — Share vocabulary decks with others via shareable links. Shared decks and their words are uploaded to our cloud infrastructure (Firebase) and are publicly accessible to anyone with the link.
We strive to keep the Service available and functioning at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. AI-powered features depend on third-party services and may vary in accuracy or availability.
You are responsible for the content you scan and process through the Service. When scanning text from books, magazines, or other materials, you must ensure that your use of such content complies with applicable copyright laws and is limited to personal, educational purposes.
You agree not to use the Service to:
Process content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
Use automated systems or bots to access the Service
Images you scan are sent securely to cloud AI services for processing and are not stored permanently by us or our AI providers. Extracted vocabulary is stored locally on your device. You retain ownership of any content you create or scan using the Service.
When you share a vocabulary deck, the deck and all its words are uploaded to our cloud servers (Firebase). Shared decks are publicly accessible to anyone with the share link — no authentication is required to view them. You are solely responsible for ensuring that the content you share does not contain personal, sensitive, or copyrighted material that you do not have the right to distribute. Only the deck owner can modify or delete a shared deck.
The App, Website, and all associated content (including but not limited to software, design, text, graphics, logos, and icons) are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent.
You retain all rights to the vocabulary decks and learning data you create within the App. We do not claim ownership over your learning content. Your data is stored locally on your device and is not accessible to us unless you explicitly share it.
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use such feedback to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
Snap to Learn offers both free and paid features. Subscriptions and credit purchases are managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat.
The App provides a limited number of free scans and practice sessions. Additional usage requires a subscription or credit purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings.
Prices are displayed in your local currency and may vary by region. All applicable taxes are handled by the respective app store. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, but changes will not affect your current billing period.
Refunds are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store in accordance with their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, please contact the respective app store or reach out to us for assistance.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
The accuracy or completeness of AI-generated translations, definitions, or vocabulary extractions
The accuracy of handwriting recognition results
Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service
Fitness for a particular educational purpose or guaranteed learning outcomes
The Service is a learning aid and should not be relied upon as the sole source of translations or language instruction.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App and cancelling any active subscription through your app store. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if continued provision of the Service becomes impractical.
Since your learning data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the App will result in the loss of your locally stored vocabulary and progress.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Germany. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also retain the protections of the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or applicable law. We will notify users of material changes through the App or Website. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
