Once you've created a deck -- whether by scanning a page, importing a shared link, or building one from scratch -- this is where you'll spend most of your time. Here's everything you can do with your decks and the words inside them.

Your Decks Library

The Decks tab is your home screen. It shows all the decks you've created for your currently active language pair (for example, English to German).

Each deck card gives you a quick overview at a glance:

  • Deck name at the top
  • Word count -- how many words are in the deck
  • Mastery percentage -- how many words you've fully learned, with a progress bar
  • A Practice button so you can jump straight into a study session without opening the deck first

Tap anywhere on a deck card to open it and see all the words inside. Or, if you're ready to study, just hit Practice.

Inside a Deck

When you open a deck, you'll see a detailed view of everything in it.

At the top, the header shows three stats: Total Words, Mastered count, and % Complete, along with a progress bar and a message like "10 words left to master."

Below that, there are two tabs:

  • Practicing -- words you're still working on
  • Mastered -- words you've completed (7 out of 7 correct spellings)

Each word card in the list shows you:

  • The word in your native language (in bold)
  • The translation in the language you're learning, with a speaker icon you can tap to hear the pronunciation
  • A short definition explaining the word
  • An example sentence showing how it's used
  • A progress tracker like "0/7 correct spellings" -- you need to spell a word correctly 7 times across practice sessions to master it
  • A Practice link to jump into a session focused on just that one word

In the top-right corner of each word card, you'll also find three quick-action icons:

  • Checkmark -- mark the word as learned right away (skips the 7-spelling requirement)
  • Pencil -- edit the word's details
  • Trash -- delete the word from the deck

The deck header also has three icons in the top bar: a bell for reminders, a share icon, and a pencil for editing the deck itself. We'll cover each of those below.

Adding Words Manually

You don't have to rely on scanning alone. To add a word by hand, tap the orange + button that floats in the bottom-right corner when you're inside a deck. You can fill in the source text, target translation, definition, example sentences, and hints. This is handy when you come across a new word during conversation or while reading and want to add it to an existing deck.

Editing a Deck

Tap the pencil icon in the deck header to open the Edit Deck screen. From here you can:

  • Rename the deck -- just update the name field and tap Save Changes
  • View deck info -- see the language pair and deck statistics (word count, creation date)
  • Delete the deck -- scroll down to the Danger Zone and tap Delete Deck

Be careful with deletion. It permanently removes the deck and all its words. This cannot be undone.

Sharing Decks

Sharing is great for teachers who want to distribute vocabulary lists to a class, study groups working on the same material, or parents who want to set up words for their kids on a different device.

To share a deck, tap the share icon in the deck header. A form slides up where you fill in:

  • Deck Title -- defaults to the deck name, but you can change it
  • Description -- a short note about what the deck covers (required)
  • Your Name -- this will be visible to anyone who imports the deck

Tap Share Deck, and you'll get a link that's automatically copied to your clipboard. You can paste it into a message, email, or wherever you'd like. Anyone who opens that link in the app will be able to import a copy of your deck.

Setting Reminders

Got a test coming up? A deadline to learn certain words by? Tap the bell icon in the deck header to set a reminder.

First, pick a deadline date using the calendar -- this is when you need to know these words by. Then choose your daily reminder time, the time of day you'd like to get a notification nudging you to practice.

The app will send you a push notification every day at your chosen time, reminding you to study that deck.

And here's a nice bonus: once you master all the words in a deck, the app automatically switches to retention reminders. It will check in with you at spaced intervals -- 1, 3, 7, 14, and 30 days after completion -- to make sure the words stick in your long-term memory.
